Design Irrigation System and Total Irrigation Efficiency: Conventional Surface Irrigation with Open Network of Prefabricated Canals (Total Efficiency 63.5%)

Drainage system: The first stage of drainage was implemented before the project was implemented, and the drainage network for the second stage was implemented with the project
The project consists of a pumping station on the right bank of the Euphrates River consisting of six pumping groups (five of which are operational and the sixth is reserve) in addition to two helical lifting stations

The irrigation network consists of main and branch channels of box-section and a network of prefabricated concrete channels of semi-circular cross-section. The drainage network consists of 92 vertical drainage wells draining into open drains.

The pumping stations, vertical drainage and large parts of the irrigation network were sabotaged, which led to the project being out of service

The Corporation rehabilitated the pumping and lifting stations and power transmission networks for the project, as well as rehabilitating large parts of the irrigation networks

 The FAO rehabilitated a section of the irrigation canals in the first part of the project.

 The project was developed with investment in the agricultural season 2020-2021
